As Big 12 play looms for West Virginia, the team has a 9-2 record they look to build upon in conference play in their first year under head coach Darian DeVries.

WVU’s team is mainly made up of transfers and a few freshmen following the hire of DeVries. Let’s take a look at some former Mountaineers from 2023-2024 who transferred stats in nonconference play with their new teams.

Kerr Kriisa

Kriisa was one of West Virginia’s top players from last season. He decided to enter the transfer portal for a second time in his collegiate career and transfer to Kentucky. He’s played in nine games for the Wildcats so far this season starting one, averaging 17.3 minutes per game. He’s averaging 4.4 points, 3.8 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game, shooting current career lows in both field goal and three-point percentages.

Josiah Harris and Seth Wilson

After beginning their careers at WVU, junior forward Josiah Harris and senior guard Seth Wilson transferred to Akron. Harris has played in six games, starting all six, averaging 23.5 minutes per game. Harris is averaging 8.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and two assists per game, shooting 33.3%, all current career highs. Wilson has played in 10 games, averaging 12.9 minutes a game. He is currently averaging 3.6 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.

Noah Farrakhan

Farrakhan is on to his fourth school and fifth year of college basketball, playing for Hampton University. He’s played in 12 games, starting 10, averaging over 30 minutes per game. He averages 13.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists per game and 1.3 steals per game.

Patrick Suemnick

Suemnick stayed in the Big 12 and transferred to Oklahoma State. He’s played in 10 games, starting one, averaging 11.9 minutes per game. He currently averages 2.7 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.

Kobe Johnson

Johnson started 34 games for West Virginia through his first three years of college. He took his talents to St.Louis and has played in nine games, starting five. He currently averages 4.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.

Jeremiah Bembry

Bembry didn’t play a ton for West Virginia, dealing with injury last season. This season so far with Oakland, he’s played in seven games, averaging 3.6 minutes per game. He averages 0.4 points and 0.3 rebounds per game.

Ali Ragab

Ragab originally walked on to West Virginia and didn’t appear in a game. Now, he’s playing for Northern Arizona appearing in nine games, averaging 7.1 minutes per game. The 7-foot center is currently averaging 3.3 rebounds, 1.8 points and just under a block per game.
