A Look at WVU’s 2024 Transfer Class

The Mountaineers lost many players to the transfer portal a season ago, so let’s see how they fared in the first season with their new teams.

Ja’Shaun Poke

Poke, a wide receiver who transferred to San Diego State a year ago, set a career-high in catches and yards with 50 receptions for 459 yards and a 46-yard touchdown.

Cortez Braham Jr.

Braham Jr, who transferred to play his senior year at Nevada, saw the most playing time of his career and hauled in 56 passes for 724 yards and four touchdowns. Braham made the most of the opportunities he got at Nevada and set career highs in every stat.

Mike Lockhart

Lockhart, who landed in SMU to play his senior season, has recorded six solo tackles, 23 total tackles, and one sack. Lockhart and SMU made the new 12-team College Football Playoff, as the No.11 seed and will have to travel to take on No.6 Penn State.

James Heard

Heard who left the Mountaineers after his freshman season landed in Syracuse. The LB/DE recorded two solo tackles and five total tackles and also recorded his first career interception against Ohio University.

Andrew Wilson-Lamp

Wilson-Lamp spent his Junior season at East Carolina University and was another example of players leaving and having a career year. Andrew Wilson-Lamp recorded 16 solo tackles, 23 total tackles, two passes defended, an interception, and a forced fumble, all career highs. ECU is getting ready to take on NC State in the Go Bowling Military Bowl.

Hershey McLaurin

Mclaurin entered the portal a year ago, decided to stay in the Big 12 for his senior season, and had a career year for Houston, recording 27 solo tackles, 50 total tackles, three passes defended, one forced fumble, 0.5 sacks, and an interception.

KeyShawn Cobb

Cobb, a safety who transferred to Nevada for his senior season after only a year with the Mountaineers. Cobb recorded 15 solo tackles, 27 total tackles, three passes defended, one sack and one interception.

Jared Bartlett

Bartlett decided to play his last season of college football at the University of Cincinnati. Bartlett set a career-high in sacks for the Bearcats with seven and a half to go along with 34 solo tackles, 69 total tackles, and three passes defended. Bartlett faced WVU in 2024 and recorded a sack in the 31-24 Cincinnati loss.

Tomiwa Durojaiye

Defensive lineman Tomiwa Durojaiye spent his sophomore year playing for Florida State. Durojaiye recorded three solo tackles and a sack in his first season with the Seminoles.
