6’1″ guard Noah Farrakhan will play his fifth collegiate season in 2024-2025, he announced on X this Friday.
Farrakhan had previously begun the NBA Draft process after his senior season. The decision comes one day after the NCAA granted an extra year of eligibility to all players who were ruled ineligible for any amount of time since the 2019-2020 academic year. Because Farrakhan was ruled ineligible for his first nine games as a Mountaineer, he will earn this extra season, giving him two seasons of eligibility left.
After the appointment of WVU head coach Darian DeVries in April, Farrakhan announced that he would not be returning to West Virginia, implying that he would enter the transfer portal to play his final collegiate season elsewhere. Now that he will not be entering the draft, Farrakhan will likely return to this plan.
Noah Farrakhan averaged 7.7 points, three rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.5 turnovers on 35.1 percent from three and 40.9 percent from the field last season. Assuming he transfers from West Virginia, Farrakhan will be playing for his fourth different program in five seasons.
