West Virginia guard Kobe Johnson is entering the transfer portal, according to a social media post.
Johnson had spent three seasons at WVU, but got his most playing time this past season. He started 26 of 31 games played this season, averaging 6.0 points per game and 2.0 rebounds per game. He also played about 26 minutes per game this season, up from his 10 minutes per game last season.
Johnson is the second Mountaineer to hit the portal today, joining fellow guard Jeremiah Bembry.
Losing Johnson means out of the 14 guys on WVU’s roster last season, only four are remaining (Ali Ragab, Noah Farrakhan, Aden Tagaloa-Nelson, and Ofri Naveh).
Johnson is a native of Canton, Ohio, and was a recruit under former head coach Bob Huggins.
