In a 119-112 New York Knicks win over the Golden State Warriors on Monday night, former West Virginia guard Miles ‘Deuce’ McBride set a new career high with 29 points.
McBride played 47 minutes, shooting nine of 13 from the field, including six of nine from three. He also came away with two assists, a steal and a rebound.
Deuce’s previous career-high was 21 points against the Dallas Mavericks on Feb. 8, while starting in place of Knicks All-Star guard Jalen Brunson. McBride also scored 19 points vs the Memphis Grizzlies and 20 points against the Orlando Magic, respectively, while starting for Brunson in January.
Brunson played in 35 minutes on Monday, scoring 35 points, with seven assists, five rebounds and steal, but took a back-seat role to McBride in the first half with Deuce putting up 19 through two quarters.
McBride is now averaging just under seven points per game, shooting 44.8% from the field and playing in an average of 15.6 minutes per game.
The Knicks are now 41-27 on the season and currently sit in fourth place in the Eastern Conference, 13 games back of the first-place Joe Mazzulla-led Boston Celtics, who have already clinched a playoff berth.
