Tevin Tucker officially said goodbye to West Virginia on Wednesday night, and on Thursday it was announced he is signing with the Colorado Rockies.
Tucker took to social media saying, “from a boy to a man..Thank you, West Virginia! Forever country roads take me home.”
Tucker has been at West Virginia since 2019 and had a career year as a senior this season. Tucker hit .318 this season, with 23 RBI, and 20 stolen bases. In his career at West Virginia, Tucker has compiled 191 starts, and had the option to return to school but he is joining the Rockies.
Out of those 191 starts, Tucker played and started in every single game in 2019, 2020, 2022, and 2023, and WVU went 122-69 in those games.
“I don’t ever try and identify or like these kids because they’re good players,” West Virginia head coach Randy Mazey said following WVU’s exit in the NCAA Tournament. “I like them because they’re good people. And you won’t find a better person than Tevin Tucker.”
