West Virginia Bob Huggins has been under fire over the past few days due to homophobic remarks he made made on a Cincinnati radio station on Monday.
According to Pete Thamel of ESPN, there has been a decision made for Huggins to continue coaching next season. Thames writes, “WVU and coach Bob Huggins are finalizing details for him to return to the sideline next season.”
Thamel says this agreement includes Huggins receiving a suspension, $1 million salary reduction and sensitivity training.
Mike Cassaza of 247Sports reports the suspension will be three games long, allowing Huggins to coach in the Fort Myers Tip-Off Event during Thanksgiving week.
Huggins is the current active leader in Division I wins with 934, and has put together one of the top transfer portal classes in the country this offseason.
