West Virginia guard Kedrian Johnson said his final goodbye to West Virginia on Monday. In a statement released on social media, Johnson thanked Mountaineer fans for the past three seasons, before announcing his future plans.
“To the West Virginia staff, I want to thank you guys for accepting “Me” 3 years ago, a kid from Oak Cliff, Texas, and helping me get closer and closer to my potential each and every day!” Johnson started.
Johnson came to WVU from junior college, and stayed for three seasons. Johnson went from a somewhat unknown bench player to a focal point on both offense and defense this season. Johnson ended his collegiate career scoring a career-high 27 points in the first round loss to Maryland in the NCAA Tournament.
Jonson went on thanking the fans saying, “To Mountaineer Nation, I want to thank you guys for the unconditional love and
support these past 3 years. You will forever be a part of me.”
Johnson closed his message saying that he will be entering his name into the NBA Draft.
“After discussing with my options with my family and coaches, I have decided to enter my name into the 2023 NBA Draft.”
