Former Mountaineer and 12-year NFL starter Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones returned to West Virginia to visit his alma mater over the weekend. Jones, who was at WVU in the early 2000’s, offered a message of support to the football team following their practice on Saturday.
“This blue and gold, I don’t know if y’all know, this s— means something,” Jones said. “This s— means something to all the guys that played before y’all.”
Jones has taken previous visits to WVU in the past, but now has even more of a reason to come back due to his relationship with new tight ends coach Blaine Stewart. Stewart has thought of Jones as a big brother.
Jones’s message to the team was about loving the game of football and working together as a team.
“Love what you do. And do what you love. Everybody ain’t going to make the league, everybody ain’t going to get the glitz and glamour. As a group, love what you do, do what you love,” Jones said. “There’s no excuses you all have not to be the best. Work together as a team, y’all got something special here, but it’s got to be all in one. Everybody got to pull the rope.”
