West Virginia is a nine seed in the South Region in the NCAA Tournament.
As expected, the Mountaineers heard their name called on Sunday following a 19-14 finish this season. The Mountaineers will face No. 8 Maryland in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, with the winner of the game more than likely facing No. 1 overall seed Alabama
This is West Virginia’s first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2021 and the 11th under head coach Bob Huggins since he was named the head coach of WVU prior to the 2007-2008 season. This is the first time WVU is an nine seed under Huggins.
The Mountaineers finished the season 6-13 in Quad 1 games, 6-1 in Quad 2 games, 1-0 in Quad 3 games, and 6-0 in Quad 4 games.
