For Morgantown native Noah Braham, playing football at WVU means more than the opportunity to play at the next level. Braham is the son of the All-American Mountaineer Rich Braham, who was a walk-on to the program and eventually played for the Cincinnati Bengals.
Noah Braham’s story is a little different than his father’s; Braham earned his scholarship before entering his senior year of high school. In fact, WVU was Braham’s only Division I offer.
“They were the first school to reach out to me,” Braham said. “The coaches and staff members are extremely nice, and they made WVU feel like home.”
Braham announced his commitment on June 25, saying he would be “staying home.” Being a Morgantown native is something that Braham says makes him stand out among his recruiting class.
“I’m the only one from Morgantown, so I’m going to have a lot of support from the community,” Braham said.
At University High School, Braham moves around on defense, playing as a lineman and linebacker. He also plays tight end and is expected to fit in to either the tight end or linebacker position when arriving at WVU.
Braham says his work ethic will make him stand out among the talented group of newcomers. The 3-star recruit’s size also gives him an edge, standing 6-foot-2, 225 pounds, exhibiting solid footwork and good play recognition.
Just like his father, Braham is looking to make an impact for Mountaineer football. He believes his class is special and is capable of putting WVU back on top.
“We are a group that is willing to come in and compete from day one,” Braham said. “The class of 2023 is going to be something special.”
