The 2026 WVU Football recruiting class was one for the record books. Not only did the Mountaineers sign the largest class in school history as they reeled in 49 recruits, but they also delivered quality that accompanied the quantity.

According to the Rivals/On3 recruiting rankings, West Virginia brought in the No. 1 class in the entire Big 12 Conference. If that isn’t impressive enough, this latest recruiting class has also earned the highest-ever national ranking for a Mountaineer football recruiting class.

By multiple measures, this is likely the best WVU football recruiting class of all-time. So what players did the Mountaineers bring in at each position?

Below is a full position-by-position breakdown of the soon-to-be Mountaineers with one exception – four-star Matt Sieg, who surprised fans by announcing he’s joining West Virginia on Early National Signing Day, is still currently listed as an Athlete on the University’s recruiting roster. However, it’s believed he will play either nickel or safety for WVU on defense and could play receiver or running Back on the offensive side.
