Mountaineers land FCS All-American in transfer portal

A third linebacker has joined WVU’s transfer portal recruitment class, and he comes with a unique set of accolades.

Junior Ben Bogle signed with West Virginia, CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz announced on Wednesday. Bogle enters the Big 12 and Morgantown with experience as a superstar, having earned All-American honors in the FCS last season.

Bogle entered the transfer portal after recording 105 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and two interceptions with Southern Illinois last season. The season was Bogle’s third with the Salukis including his redshirt season in 2022.

The addition will be one of the last for Rich Rodriguez’s new-look Mountaineers, who will look to break into the upper tier of Big 12 programs this season. Bogle will match WVU’s hunger for winning as he looks to recover from a 4-8 record with SIU in 2024.

West Virginia can continue to recruit from the transfer portal for two more days before the second NCAA transfer window closes on April 25.
