WVU Men’s Basketball officially parts ways with Jose Perez

West Virginia men’s basketball officially announced they have parted ways with Jose Perez.

It was reported that Perez was no longer with the team due to academic reasons and WVU confirmed the move.

“We wish Jose the best in his future endeavors,” interim head coach Josh Eilert said of Perez.

Perez was a transfer from Manhattan who had to sit out last season after he was ruled ineligible as a two-time transfer. Perez has played in 97 career games, averaging 15.1 points per game between Gardner-Webb, Marquette, and Manhattan.

Perez re-entered the transfer portal following Bob Huggins’ resignation this summer but he later decided he would return to play for West Virginia.
