West Virginia men’s basketball releases non-conference schedule

West Virginia men’s basketball released their 2023-2024 non-conference schedule.

The non-conference schedule features nine home games at the WVU Coliseum, as well as two games at a neutral site in Florida, and one at a neutral site in Cleveland.

West Virginia begins their season on Nov. 6 against Missouri State. It is the second all-time meeting between the two schools.

The Mountaineers play two more home games before heading to Florida for the Fort Myers Tip-Off. The first is Nov. 10 against Monmouth, and the second is on Nov. 14 against Jacksonville State.

Then, the Mountaineers head south to face either Wisconsin, Virginia, or SMU in the Fort Myers Tip-Off. Those games will be played on Nov. 20 and. Nov. 22. The Mountaineers then return home for a game against Bellarmine on Nov. 26, before entering a tough stretch in December.

West Virginia begins the month in the Big East-Big 12 Battle, facing St. Johns at home. This will be the 39th meeting between the two schools.

The Mountaineers follow that up against Pitt at home in the Backyard Brawl on Dec. 6.

West Virginia follows that up hosting Drexel on Dec. 9, followed by traveling to face Massachusetts in Springfield, Massachusetts on Dec. 16, taking part in the Hall of Fame Classic.

West Virginia then returns home twice more. The first is to face Redford on Dec. 20, and Toledo on Dec. 23, before the Christmas break.

It will then be a quick turnaround a week later as they play Ohio State in Cleveland on Dec. 30.
