WVU Lands Offensive Lineman from the University of North Alabama

Mickel Clay has announced his commitment to WVU after spending the past three seasons at North Alabama.

Clay is a 6-foot-5, 278-pound offensive tackle who began his collegiate career at the junior college level before transferring to North Alabama for the past three seasons. Clay is a Cincinnati native and will play his final year of college football for the Mountaineers in 2025. He was ranked as a three-star transfer prospect according to 24/7 Sports.

This is the first domino to fall for Rich Rodriguez and his staff since the second wave of the transfer portal began earlier this week, adding to a position that Rodriguez has said on multiple occasions he hopes to deepen during this portal cycle.
