Mountaineers in the NFL: 2024 Season Wrap Up

With the 2024 NFL regular season over, lets take a look at some former Mountaineers and how they fared in 2024.

Beanie Bishop

Beanie Bishop concluded his first regular season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, he recorded 30 solo tackles with 45 total tackles, seven passes defended, and four interceptions. Bishop’s four interceptions ranked second among rookies in 2024, only trailing Texans rookie Calen Bullock, who had five. The Steelers finished the regular season at 10-7 and finished second in the AFC North, they will take on the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the playoffs on Saturday, Jan. 11th at 8:00 pm EST. That will be the third matchup of the season between Pittsburgh and Baltimore.

Dante Stills

Dante Stills wrapped up his second season with the Arizona Cardinals and put up 4.5 sacks, one forced fumble and 20 solo tackles with 42 total tackles, which all were career-bests for him. Stills and the Cardinals fell short of the playoffs with an 8-9 record, finishing third in the NFC West.

Kyzir White

Kyzir White finished his seventh NFL season in 2024 and second with the Arizona Cardinals. White had a stellar season for Arizona, posting a career-high in tackles with 137 total tackles and another career-high with 2.5 sacks, he also recorded an interception. White will enter this off-season as an unrestricted free agent.

Colton McKivitz

Colton McKivitz finished his fifth season in the NFL with the San Fransisco 49ers. San Fransisco had a down year in 2024 with a record of 6-11, coming off a Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs just a season ago. McKivitz will remain under contract with the 49ers for another season before entering free agency.

David Long Jr.

David Long Jr concluded his sixth NFL season, spending parts of 2024 with the Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions. Long played the first eight games for Miami before he was released and signed to the Detroit Lions practice squad. He recorded 29 solo tackles between the two teams, 26 of which came in his time with the Miami Dolphins. Long was recently cut by the Lions ahead of their Week 17 matchup with the 49ers.

Geno Smith

Geno Smith finished his 11th season in the NFL and his fifth in Seattle. Smith had recorded a career-high 4,320 passing yards and 21 touchdowns to 15 interceptions, which was good for a 93.2 passer rating. Smith and the Seahawks finished the season with a 10-7 record and missed the playoffs by not having the tiebreaker over the Los Angeles Rams. He will enter 2025 on the last year of his contract with the Seahawks before hitting the open market in 2026.

Rasul Douglas

Rasul Douglas finished his eighth professional season and his first full season with the Buffalo Bills. Douglas recorded 43 solo tackles and 58 total. Douglas and the Bills finished the season as arguably the best team in the NFL with a 13-4 record and will host the Denver Broncos in the first round of the playoff on Saturday, Jan. 11th at 1:00 pm EST.

Zach Frazier

Zach Frazier finished his rookie season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Frazier had an outstanding rookie season, allowing the lowest pressure rate out of all the rookie offensive linemen with an incredible 2.3%, allowing 12 pressures on 513 pass-blocking snaps. Frazier and the Steelers will take on the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the playoffs on Saturday, Jan.11 at 8:00 pm EST.
