WVU linebacker Josiah Trotter explains what to expect from the high-tempo Texas Tech offense on Saturday.
Coming into the final matchup of the regular season, Texas Tech’s offense is ranked second in the Big 12 in yards per game with 450.3, third in total passing yards with 3,221, and their 37.4 points per game actually lead the Big 12.
Linebacker Josiah Trotter, in Monday’s press conference, explained how unique the style of offense that Texas Tech runs is. The high-tempo offense is designed to move fast down the field and wear down the defense.
“The biggest issue really is just the communication part, when you trying to go tempo, your trying to get it across the board where everyone is on the same page if you can’t get that part across when your communicating, that could hurt you really bad, you’re going to get maybe a missed coverage or a misfit in the run gap when they’re trying to run the ball, the biggest thing is when a team is going tempo is getting the call in and making the call,” Trotter said.
The Mountaineers will travel to take on Texas Tech on Saturday at Noon EST in the regular season finale.
