In recent news, there was a settlement between Warner Bros. Discovery and the NBA after their fallout.
Big 12 Conference football and basketball games will soon be broadcast on TNT, TBS, and the Max streaming service, which is owned by Warner Bros. Discovery.
Starting next fall, 13 Big 12 Conference football games, normally streamed on ESPN, will move to Warner Bros. Discovery channels such as TNT and TBS.
This deal will span six seasons, from 2025 through 2031, matching the length of the current contract with Fox and ESPN.
In addition to football, the agreement includes 15 Big 12 basketball games that will also air on Warner Bros. Discovery channels.
WBD needed to fill time slots that were previously occupied by NBA games, so this is where the Big 12 comes into play. Start times for these matchups are still unclear, but further information will be released in the coming future as the next college football season looms closer.
The move is seen as a positive step for the growing conference, shifting matchups that were previously exclusive to the ESPN+ streaming service to cable channels.
All of these games will simultaneously stream on Max, formerly known as HBO Max, which is expected to help expand the viewership of these conference games.
