Sportsbooks Hint at WVU’s Starting Quarterback for Saturday

The big question surrounding West Virginia’s game vs. Baylor this weekend is who’ll be under center for the Mountaineers?

When senior quarterback Garrett Greene could not return against Kansas State, redshirt sophomore Nicco Marchiol stepped in. Although he couldn’t win that win for WVU, Marchiol helped the Mountaineers win the next two games as the starter, making him 3-0 as a starter in his career.

With Greene returning to practice this week, many have wondered who will get the starting nod against Baylor. Head coach Neal Brown wouldn’t provide any insight on Monday during his weekly press conference but said he would make a decision as the week progressed. He also said that he didn’t think it was for a guy (Greene) to lose his job due to injury a couple of weeks, though.

However, some Sports Books, such as DraftKings, predict that Greene will be back starting for West Virginia on Saturday. His current odds for any-time touchdown scorer are -135, the third-most likely of any Mountaineer, behind CJ Donaldson and Jahiem White (-150).

While odds and starters are always subject to change, that’s where it’s currently at. If Brown doesn’t give a solidified decision on his radio show on Thursday, fans may not truly know until game time on Saturday.
