College football insider Pete Thamel reported that redshirt sophomore Nicco Marchiol will make his second consecutive start in West Virginia’s game against Cincinnati on Saturday.
According to Thamel, Garrett Greene, who has started for most of the season, will be available as the emergency quarterback. Greene has been sidelined since the first half of a loss to Kansas State on Oct. 19. He was listed as doubtful all week, but now his official status has been revealed.
Marchiol has a 2-0 record as a starter for WVU. Before the Mountaineers’ bye week, he pieced together an impressive performance that led to a 31-26 win. His other win came against Texas Tech last season.
The game will be televised on FS1, with kickoff set for noon EST.
