According to PFF, Senior defensive lineman TJ Jackson leads all of college football in quarterback pressures with 20.
A quarterback pressure is when a defensive player creates pressure, forcing a QB to move out of the pocket or throw prematurely. The next highest on the list is LSU’s Brandyn Swinson with 18.
Jackson, standing at 6-foot-1 and 282 pounds, transferred from Troy University this past offseason to join the Mountaineers. During his junior year, he posted 27 tackles, including 17 solo stops, 3.5 sacks, and seven tackles for loss.
Jackson has made an immediate impact on the WVU defensive front this season, recording 17 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and recovering a fumble in just four games. Notably, Jackson didn’t start in the first two games of the season. He was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week following the Week 3 loss to Pitt.
