As football season inches closer, the Big 12 will have media days in Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders, on July 9-10.

With conferences in the FBS being shaken up mightily, including the dismemberment of the Pac 12, the Big 12 will have four new schools in 2024, Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah. Former Big 12 members Oklahoma and Texas will be moving to the SEC.

On top of that, there will be a lot of storylines to pay attention to this season in the conference. The conference has three head coaches heading into their first year with their new program, Arizona’s Brent Brennan, Cincinnati’s Scott Satterfield and Houston’s Willie Fritz. Former NFL superstar Deion Sanders is heading into his second season with Colorado, the Buffaloes will have many eyes on them under Sanders as they look to improve on their 4-8 record in 2023.

Another storyline is Oklahoma State’s Ollie Gordon II. Gordon was one of the top running backs in college football in 2023, finishing seventh in Heisman voting. He finished with 1,732 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns last season and is one of the most favored to win the illustrious trophy this year, having already being named the Big 12’s preseason Player of the Year. However, Gordon was arrested last week under suspicion of a DUI and will be one of four Cowboys along with head coach Mike Van Gundy attending media day.

As for West Virginia, they will be debuting their new jerseys at media day. Aside from looks, as a team that exceeded expectations last season, after being picked to finish last in the conference last year, they are being more highly regarded heading into 2024. Head coach Neal Brown was granted a contract extension this offseason, that included a pay cut in an effort to invest more into the program and his coaching staff. Mountaineers attending media day will be defensive back Aubrey Burks, quarterback Garrett Greene, defensive lineman Sean Martin and offensive lineman Wyatt Milum. Brown will be interviewed live on-field at 2:40 p.m. EST, followed by Greene’s interview, which will be televised live on ESPNU.

Coverage of the Big 12 media days will be on ESPN+. The two-day event begins Tuesday at 1 p.m. EST with opening remarks from Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark.
