West Virginia is vying for a huge upset win over No. 3 Kansas on Saturday afternoon at the WVU Coliseum.
The Mountaineers are 1-3 in Big 12 play, while the Jayhawks are 3-1.
Our staff gives their predictions:
Wesley Shoemaker: The biggest question mark for me is how will WVU play against Kansas’ size. If Jesse Edwards continues to be unavailable as he recovers from a fractured wrist, it’s going to most likely be a long day as Kevin McCullar and Hunter Dickinson will feast. West Virginia has historically been good against the Jayhawks at home, but as of late, the Mountaineers have just been owned by Kansas. I don’t think WVU gets the upset win as I just think KU is too deep and too talented.

Patrick Reneau: West Virginia welcomes Kansas to Morgantown this weekend. This used to be a game that many West Virginia fans would see and immediately give the mountaineers the win because Kansas always struggled in Morgantown, but that hasn’t been the case in recent years. This is a very good Kansas team against a not as good West Virginia team. If Jesse Edwards were playing in this game, I could see a possibility that they are able to squeak by, but with no Jesse Edwards, I’m afraid West Virginia is going to have a long night trying to stop Hunter Dickinson and the rest of the Jayhawks offense.

Ryan Roddy: The Mountaineers have a tough task with No. 3 Kansas at home Saturday. In their last game, WVU had a solid first half but failed to close the gap in the second. Noah Farrakhan is starting to make a name for himself in a West Virginia uniform after a big poster dunk on Wednesday and could be one of the only bright spots against the Jayhawks. Kansas’ Hunter Dickinson the 7-foot-2 center should have his way against a height-lacking Mountaineer squad. Although, WVU has performed their best at home this season, including a win against Texas I expect this one to be ugly.
