We are now three weeks into Big 12 Conference play and the Big 12 has been one of the best conferences in women’s college basketball.
In the latest AP Poll, the Big 12 has four teams represented in it: Kansas State at seventh, Texas at 11th, Baylor at 12th, and Iowa State at 24th. The Big 12 also has West Virginia receiving votes.
As of games through Jan. 18, every single team in the conference has a winning record, making them the only such conference in the nation to accomplish this feat.
Let’s take a look at each Big 12 team and how they fared in games over the last week. This list is sorted alphabetically.
No. 12 Baylor (14-2, 3-2 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Baylor lost on the road against Iowa State 66-63. Baylor led by 13 after one quarter, then Iowa State kept it close the rest of the way and managed to hand Baylor their second straight loss.
Baylor was off this past Tuesday and Wednesday and will be back in action tomorrow when they host UCF. After that is a Top 15 showdown at home against No. 7 Kansas State on Monday, Jan. 22.
BYU (11-8, 1-5 Big 12)
Last Saturday, BYU won a home game against Cincinnati 68-58. BYU only trailed in the first quarter, then controlled the game from there.
This past Wednesday, BYU lost a road game against Oklahoma State 82-50. BYU never led in this one and this was the fifth time this season in which they allowed at least 80 points in a game.
Up next for BYU is a home game against Texas Tech tomorrow. After that is a road game against No. 7 Kansas State on Saturday, Jan. 27.
Cincinnati (9-7, 1-4 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Cincinnati lost a road game against BYU 68-58. Cincinnati only led in the first quarter, and it was all BYU from there.
Cincinnati was off this past Tuesday and Wednesday and will be back in action tomorrow when they host West Virginia. After that is a home game against Oklahoma State on Wednesday, Jan. 24.
Houston (11-6, 2-4 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Houston won a home game against TCU 77-66. TCU led in the first quarter, then Houston took advantage of an injury-depleted TCU team.
This past Wednesday, Houston lost a road game against West Virginia 80-39. Houston was shutout in the first quarter and had only eight points in the entire first half.
Up next for Houston is a home game against Oklahoma tomorrow. After that is a road game against Texas Tech on Wednesday, Jan. 24.
No. 24 Iowa State (12-5, 6-1 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Iowa State won a home game against No. 4 Baylor 66-63. Baylor led by 13 after one quarter, then Iowa State kept it close the rest of the way and managed to squeak out the win.
This past Wednesday, Iowa State lost a road game against Texas Tech 71-63. Iowa State only led in the second quarter and Texas Tech used 13 three-pointers to propel the way to victory.
Iowa State was slated to have a home game against TCU tomorrow, but TCU had to forfeit due to a depleted roster. Up next for Iowa State is a road game against Kansas on Wednesday, Jan. 24.
Kansas (9-8, 2-4 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Kansas won a home game against Oklahoma State 70-64. Oklahoma State led for much of the game, but Kansas managed to rally back in the fourth quarter to win it.
This past Tuesday, Kansas lost a road game against No. 11 Texas 91-56. Kansas only led early in the first quarter as the 91 points allowed were tied for the most Kansas has allowed on the season.
Up next for Kansas is a road game against No. 7 Kansas State tomorrow. After that is a home game against No. 24 Iowa State on Wednesday, Jan. 24.
No. 7 Kansas State (17-1, 6-0 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Kansas State won a Top 15 showdown at home against No. 10 Texas 61-58. The game was tightly contested throughout, and the win helped Kansas State rise higher in the AP Poll this week.
This past Wednesday, Kansas State was slated to have a road game against TCU, but TCU had to forfeit due to a depleted roster.
Up next for Kansas State is a home game against Kansas tomorrow. After that is a potential Top 15 showdown on the road against Baylor on Monday, Jan. 22.
Oklahoma (10-6, 4-1 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Oklahoma won a home game against Texas Tech 73-55. Oklahoma led in this one for nearly the entirety of the game.
Oklahoma was off this past Tuesday and Wednesday, and up next for Oklahoma is a road game against Houston tomorrow. After that is a road game against No. 11 Texas on Wednesday, Jan. 24.
Oklahoma State (11-6, 4-2 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Oklahoma State lost a road game against Kansas 70-64. Oklahoma State led for much of the game, but Kansas managed to rally back in the fourth quarter to win it.

TCU (14-4, 1-6 Big 12)
Last Saturday, TCU lost a road game against Houston 77-66. TCU led in the first quarter, then Houston took advantage of an injury-depleted TCU team.
The lack of available players forced TCU to forfeit their next two games against No. 7 Kansas State and No. 24 Iowa State. Note that these forfeit losses only show up in the conference win-loss record and not their overall record.
Up next for TCU is a home game against UCF on Tuesday, Jan. 23. After that is a road game against Texas Tech on Saturday, Jan. 27.
No. 11 Texas (17-2, 4-2 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Texas lost a Top 15 showdown on the road against No. 12 Kansas State 61-58. The game was tightly contested throughout, and the win helped Kansas State rise higher in the AP Poll this week.
This past Tuesday, Texas won a home game against Kansas 91-56. Texas only trailed early in the first quarter as this was the eighth time this season in which Texas has scored at least 90 points in a game.

Texas Tech (14-5, 3-3 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Texas Tech lost a road game against Oklahoma 73-55. Texas Tech trailed in this one for nearly the entirety of the game.
This past Wednesday, Texas Tech won a home game against No. 24 Iowa State 71-63. Iowa State only led in the second quarter and Texas Tech used 13 3-pointers to propel the way to victory.

UCF (9-6, 0-5 Big 12)
Last Saturday, UCF lost a home game against No. 24 West Virginia 76-59. UCF only led in the first half as West Virginia took control from there.
UCF was off this past Tuesday and Wednesday and up next for UCF is a road game against No. 12 Baylor tomorrow. After that is a road game against TCU on Tuesday, Jan. 23.
West Virginia (15-2, 4-2 Big 12)
Last Saturday, West Virginia won a road game against UCF 76-59. West Virginia only trailed in the first half, and JJ Quinerly managed to score her 1,000th career point.
This past Wednesday, West Virginia won a home game against Houston 80-39. West Virginia pitched a shutout in the first quarter and the 41-point margin of victory was their largest against a conference opponent since joining the Big 12.
