The Mountaineers women’s basketball team beat Southern Illinois 73-55 Saturday in their last of three games in the Puerto Rico Shootout.
JJ Quinerly was the top scorer for WVU with 21 points. Quinerly shot seven of 12 from the field, hitting both of her three attempts and shooting five of six from the free throw line.
Tavy Diggs and Jordan Harrison were also key players in the win. In 31 minutes Diggs had 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Harrison had 17 points and five assists.
West Virginia shot 29 of 61 from the field where as the Salukis shot 20 of 61.
The Mountaineers will host St Bonaventure next Saturday at 2 p.m. EST as they look to stay hot on the season.
