West Virginia (4-3, 2-2 Big 12) looks to head to Florida to pick up their win number five on the season while also breaking a two-game losing streak in the process. UCF (3-4, 0-4 Big 12) looks to finally get over that hump as they have been close a couple of times, but have yet to pick up their first Big 12 win.

Fourth Quarter

1:28 — CJ Donaldson breaks off 32-yard run to “put the nail in the coffin”. West Virginia in victory formation.

1:43 — Unsuccessful onside kick attempt by UCF, WVU will look to run the clock out and finish this one out.

1:46 — UCF adds a score late with a 16-yard Kobe Hudson touchdown reception.

5:15 — 41-yard field goal by Michael Hayes increases the Mountaineer lead to 20.

8:33 — UCF is unsuccessful on 4th down attempt, pass intended for Alec Holler broken up by Beanie Bishop. WVU defense makes its second consecutive stop, allowing for the offense to wind this one down.

9:25 — After converting on 4th & 2 with a 13-yard gain just earlier, WVU adds another with a 6-yard CJ Donaldson run. True freshman RB Jaheim White got a lot of work on the drive, including a 32-yard rush. PAT by Hayes is good.

Third Quarter

1:10 — Plumlee is hit on his drop back by Lee Kpogba and the ball comes loose, Jalen Thornton recovers for WVU; UCF’s fourth turnover of the day.

5:25 — John Rhys Plumlee finds Javon Baker in the back left corner of the endzone for a 7-yard touchdown. The Knights keep it close.

9:01 — Garret Greene gets another rushing touchdown as West Virginia converts points off the turnover and looks to pull ahead.

Second Quarter

2:05 — Moments after Greene was taken out of the game, the Mountaineers turn the ball over in Knight territory with a fumble.

2:24 — Garret Greene shaken up on a designed quarterback keeper, Nicco Marchiol is in.

5:50 — UCF goes quick tempo, John Rhys Plumlee takes it himself for an 8-yard TD to pull the Knights within three.

10:02 — Capitalizing on the turnover West Virginia pieces together an effective drive that ends with a 4-yard Jaheim White touchdown. Nick Malone is in for Doug Nester at tackle.

14:21 —  After almost getting beat deep, Beanie Bishop never took his eye off the ball as it popped into the air—making a very impressive interception.

First Quarter

2:01 — 24-yard field goal attempt by Michael Hayes is good to put the Mountaineers up nearing the end of the 1st quarter. Doug Nester was shaken up on the play before.

7:06  — The Knights answer on 3rd and medium in Mountaineer territory, John Rhys Plumlee delivers one right into the hands of Kobe Hudson for a 34-yard touchdown, the PAT is good.

10:57  — Garret Greene takes a QB draw up the middle for a touchdown on the Mountaineers’ first drive. WVU successfully attempted an early 4th and 1, with a 21-yard CJ Donaldson run that kept the drive going. Michael Hayes PAT is good.

UCF has won the coin toss and deferred to the second half. The Mountaineers will start with the ball.

Pregame Notes

WR Davis Mallinger is dressing, this will be his first game of the season, while CB Andrew Wilson-Lamp did not travel with the team. Marcis Floyd and Raleigh Collins III will be used to fill in for Hershey McLaurin at SPEAR, Neal Brown, says.
