After the Week 7 slate of college football, West Virginia is projected to face some of the top teams in the nation in recent bowl game projections.
While the Mountaineers sit at 4-2 after a devastating 41-39 Thursday night loss to Houston. Their 2-1 record in conference play has them sitting in a four-way tie for third place in the Big 12 with the likes of Texas, Kansas State, and Oklahoma State.

In CBS Sports’ latest projections, it has the Mountaineers heading down south to face off against No. 18 USC in the Alamo Bowl. This would be on Dec. 28 in San Antonio.
ESPN
In ESPN’s latest projections, one of the predictors has West Virginia playing in the Pop-Tarts Bowl at Camping World Stadium against No. 21 Louisville. The other predictor has the Mountaineers facing No. 19 LSU in the TaxAct Texas Bowl at NRG Stadium.

247’s latest projections have the Mountaineers playing in the TaxAct Texas Bowl as well, with their projection having the Mountaineers face off against Texas A&M.
Action Network
Brett McMurphy of Action Network predicts the Mountaineers will face off against No. 16 Duke in the Pop-Tarts Bowl.
