Four-star recruit and Overtime Elite small forward Darrion Sutton will reportedly start an official visit to West Virginia University starting Thursday night.
Sutton, a class of 2024 recruit, will play for RWE of the Overtime Elite basketball league in Atlanta this year and has taken interest in multiple universities for next season. The amateur league most recently featured twin brother Amen and Ausar Thompson, who were drafted fourth and fifth respectively in the 2023 NBA Draft.
For West Virginia, Sutton’s interest is a positive sign but nowhere near exclusive. Several Division 1 schools have reportedly offered Sutton a spot on their team for the 2024-2025 NCAA basketball season, including Michigan and Cincinnati. Sutton also visited Georgia Tech on the first of the month.
RWE played their first game of the Overtime Elite preseason Tuesday night. There have not been any updates to indicate whether or not Sutton played in the contest.
