No. 4 West Virginia (5-0-1) and No. 5 UCF (4-0-2) faced off in an all-Big 12 matchup in Orlando.
Marcus Caldeira wasted no time, heading in his seventh goal of the season for the Mountaineers to give them an early 1-0 lead.
Lucca Dourado responded for UCF at 22’ with a slight touch into the back of the net that tied the match up at 1-1.
It didn’t take long for West Virginia to bounce back from the UCF equalizer, as a mere 90 seconds later Thomas Decottignie shot one past the diving efforts of UCF goalkeeper Juanvi Muñoz to put the Mountaineers back on top 2-1.
At 33’ Saku Heiskanen launched a corner kick that was headed in by Zane Bubb to tie it up once again for UCF at 2-2.
From that point onward, the scoring was halted by strong goalie play, as West Virginia and UCF tied at 2-2. Both teams remain unbeaten.
West Virginia will return home to host Dayton on Tuesday. The match will start at 7 p.m. and can be streamed on ESPN+.
