Former Mountaineer Erik Stevenson is being signed by the San Antonio Spurs and will play with their summer league team, Chris Haynes reports.
Stevenson, who spent just one season in the gold and blue became a fan favorite in his short stint with the Mountaineers. Stevenson was WVU’s leading scorer this past season, averaging 15.4 points per game, Stevenson scored 20 or more points nine times this past season.
Stevenson, originally from Lacey, Washington, was at Wichita State, Washington, and South Carolina, before coming to WVU.
The Spurs had the No. 1 overall pick and selected Victor Wembanyama from France. The Spurs begin their summer league schedule on July 3 against the Charlotte Hornets and No. 2 overall pick Brandon Miller.
