Ahead of this weekend’s TBT Regional in Charleston, West Virginia, the West Virginia University alumni team ‘Best Virginia’ have put the finishing touches on their roster.
After having a scrimmage last weekend, and prepping for the beginning of play this week, Best Virginia has added a former WVU Tech player. Tamon Scruggs just finished his senior season at WVU Tech under coach James Long. Long, also happens to be the head coach of Best Virginia, and was excited to announce the addition of Scruggs.
“Tamon is one of the best scorers I have been around,” Long said. “He was one of the best players in the country for us at WVU Tech. He is going to help us prepare and will be ready to contribute if his number is called in TBT. This is going to be a great opportunity for Tamon to be a part of this process.”
Scruggs is 6-foot-4, 220 pounds, and averaged 18.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per game in his senior season as a Golden Bear this past season. Scruggs is a native of South Charleston and is one of three players on Best Virginia that did not attend WVU.
Scruggs and the rest of Best Virginia are set to get going this weekend with their first game on Sunday.
