Big 12 Takes Over AP Top 25 as WVU Gets Left Out

Despite a dominant win over Pitt last week, WVU remains unranked in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll. As per usual, though, several Big 12 rivals did make the cut.

But on the bright side for WVU, they still have plenty of games left on their non conference schedule before the calendar turns to signal Big 12 play, including the upcoming Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic that tips off this coming Friday.

That said, these are the ranked teams in the conference and when they will face the Mountaineers.

No. 2 – Houston Cougars (4-0)

Last Week: No. 1

Last Season Finish: No. 2

Game Against WVU: Jan. 13, 8:30 p.m. at Fertitta Center, Houston, Texas

No. 4 – Arizona Wildcats (4-0)

Last Week: No. 5

Last Season Finish: No. 15

Game Against WVU: Jan. 24, 2 p.m. at McKale Center, Tucson, Ariz.

No. 9 – BYU Cougars (3-1)

Last Week: No. 7

Last Season Finish: No. 13

Game Against WVU: Feb. 28, 5:30 p.m. at Hope Coliseum, Morgantown, W.Va.

No. 15 – Texas Tech Red Raiders (3-1)

Last Week: No. 11

Last Season Finish: No. 8

Game Against WVU: Feb. 8, 1 p.m. at Hope Coliseum, Morgantown, W.Va.

No. 16 – Iowa State Cyclones (3-0)

Last Week: No. 16

Last Season Finsih: No. 17

Game Against WVU: Jan. 2, 9 p.m. at Hilton Coliseum, Ames, Iowa

No. 24 – Kansas Jayhawks (3-1)

Last Week: No. 25

Last Season Finish: Unranked

Game Against WVU: Jan. 10, 12 p.m. at Hope Coliseum, Morgantown, W.Va.
