We are halfway through the month of March, and the Big 12 has been solid in baseball up to this point.
In the latest D1 Baseball rankings, the Big 12 has two teams represented in it: Oklahoma at 17th and TCU at 18th.
As of games through March 18, 12 out of the 13 teams have a winning record, with Baylor being the only team that has a losing record.
Let’s take a look at each Big 12 team and how they fared in games over the past week. This list is sorted alphabetically.
Baylor (7-12, 2-4 Big 12)
Last Tuesday, Baylor won a single home game against Stephen F. Austin 17-4. The 17 runs were all scored in a four-inning stretch to allow Baylor to cruise to an easy victory.
This past weekend, Baylor hosted a three-game home series against No. 24 Texas Tech. They won the series 2-1, winning 5-1 and 7-2 then losing 2-0.
Up next for Baylor is a single road game against Sam Houston later today. After that is a three-game road series against Texas starting on Friday.
BYU (9-8, 3-3 Big 12)
Last Tuesday, BYU was slated to have a single road game against Utah. Inclement weather caused the game to be postponed and rescheduled at a later date.
This past weekend, BYU hosted a three-game home series against Houston. They won the series 2-1, winning 4-2 and 10-8 then losing 9-2.
Up next for BYU is a single road game against Utah Tech later today. After that is a three-game road series against Texas Tech starting on Thursday.
Cincinnati (12-9, 3-3 Big 12)
Last week, Cincinnati hosted a two-game home series against Western Illinois. They split the series, losing the first game 12-11 then winning the second one 8-3.
This past weekend, Cincinnati hosted a three-game home series against Kansas. They won the series 2-1, winning 1-0 and 10-1 then losing 14-4.
Up next for Cincinnati is a single road game against Miami (OH) tomorrow. After that is a three-game road series against Saint Louis starting on Friday.
Houston (12-6, 4-2 Big 12)
This past weekend, Houston played a three-game road series against BYU. They lost the series 2-1, winning 9-2 then losing 4-2 and 10-8.
Up next for Houston is a two-game home series against Rice starting later today. After that is a three-game home series against Kansas State starting on Friday.
Kansas (10-8, 3-3 Big 12)
Last Tuesday, Kansas lost a single home game against Missouri 5-4 in 10 innings. Kansas rallied back in the eighth inning to tie the game but ultimately came up short in the 10th.
This past weekend, Kansas played a three-game road series against Cincinnati. They lost the series 2-1, winning 14-4 then losing 1-0 and 10-1.
Up next for Kansas is a single neutral site game against Missouri later today. After that is a three-game home series against UCF starting on Friday.
Kansas State (13-6, 2-1 Big 12)
Last Wednesday, Kansas State won a single home game against South Dakota State 16-5. After going down 4-0, an 11-0 run helped power Kansas State to an easy victory.
This past weekend, Kansas State hosted a three-game series against Missouri State. They swept the series 7-3, 12-6, 11-3.
Up next for Kansas State is a single road game against Wichita State later today. After that is a three-game road series against Houston starting on Friday.
No. 17 Oklahoma (13-6, 6-0 Big 12)
Last Tuesday, Oklahoma lost a single home game against Oklahoma State 14-5. The next day, Oklahoma won a road game against UT Arlington 5-1.
This past weekend, Oklahoma played a three-game road series against No. 12 TCU. They swept the series 7-3, 7-5, and 9-4.
Up next for Oklahoma is a single home game against No. 15 Dallas Baptist later today. After that is a three-game home series against West Virginia starting on Friday.
Oklahoma State (12-8, 1-2 Big 12)
Last Tuesday, Oklahoma State won a single road game against Oklahoma 14-5. Oklahoma State recorded 17 hits in the win which included three home runs.
This past weekend, Oklahoma State played a three-game road series against UCF. They lost the series 2-1, losing 13-2 and 4-3 then winning 16-10.
Up next for Oklahoma State is a single home game against Missouri State later today. After that is a three-game home series against No. 18 TCU starting on Friday.
No. 18 TCU (15-5, 1-5 Big 12)
Last Tuesday, TCU won a single road game against No. 19 Dallas Baptist 9-6. TCU capitalized off of three Dallas Baptist errors to record the top 25 road win.
This past weekend, TCU hosted a three-game home series against Oklahoma. They got swept 7-3, 7-5, and 9-4.
Up next for TCU is a single home game against UT Arlington later today. After that is a three-game road series against Oklahoma State starting on Friday.
Texas (11-8, 2-1 Big 12)
Last Tuesday, Texas won a single home game against IUW 7-1. Texas went up 7-0 then IUW scored a run to avoid a shutout.
This past weekend, Texas hosted a three-game series against Washington. They lost the series 2-1, losing 9-3 and 5-3, then won 4-3 in eight innings.
Up next for Texas is a two-game home series against Air Force with the first game set for later today. After that is a three-game home series against Baylor starting on Friday.
Texas Tech (14-6, 2-4 Big 12)
Last week, Texas Tech hosted a two-game series against New Mexico State. They swept the series 13-7 and 9-7.
This past weekend, Texas Tech played a three-game road series against Baylor. They lost the series 2-1, winning 2-0, then losing 5-1 and 7-2.
Up next for Texas Tech is a single home game against Abilene Christian later today. After that is a three-game home series against BYU starting on Thursday.
UCF (12-5, 2-4 Big 12)
Last Wednesday, UCF won a single home game against Stetson 7-1. UCF used a 7-0 run after going down 1-0 in the fourth inning to win it.
This past weekend, UCF hosted a three-game home series against Oklahoma State. They won the series 2-1, winning 13-2 and 4-3 then losing 16-10.
Up next for UCF is a single home game against Florida Atlantic later today. After that is a three-game road series against Kansas starting on Friday.
West Virginia (11-9, 2-1 Big 12)
Last Tuesday, West Virginia won a single neutral site game against Marshall 11-2. West Virginia struck out 13 batters in the win.
This past weekend, West Virginia hosted a three-game series against Ohio State. They lost the series 2-1, winning 5-2, then losing 7-4 and 26-11.
