Announced Sunday, former backup quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, Cooper Rush, signed a two-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens.
Rush backed up Dak Prescottt after he was ruled out for the season with a hamstring injury. In 2024, Rush went 4-4 with the Cowboys, throwing for 1,844 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Will Grier was signed to the Cowboys active roster last November after being on the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad earlier in the season. Now that Rush is gone, Grier will be competing for the backup spot, likely with a draft pick from this year’s draft.
During his four years in the NFL, Grier has been a member of the Carolina Panthers, Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles Chargers, and Philadelphia Eagles. The former Mountaineer has only appeared in two NFL games, both during his rookie season on the Panthers. In those two games, Grier threw for 228 yards and two interceptions.
During his two years at West Virginia, Grier displayed his abilities throwing for 7,354 yards and 71 touchdowns. The Mountaineers were 15-10 during his time in Morgantown.
