Recently, a 2025 linebacker recruit Noah Knigga saw a boatload of social media attention.
A 6-foot-2 linebacker from Lawrenceburg, Indiana, was featured with the likes of Robert Griffin III, as well as former Mountaineer Pat McAfee discussing him on his show.
“I have been in contact with WVU coaches and staff for almost a year in May. So I have got to build a great relationship with them,” Knigga (kuh-nay-ga) told Blue Gold Sports when asked about WVU staff. “It got even stronger on the visit as I got to talk to them more one-on-one and what they saw in me and my potential.”
When asked about his recent visit, Knigga said, “I feel that the visit went great and was a very successful experience.”
“I got to talk to Coach (Jeff) Koonz, my position coach for about 20-30 minutes talking about football and the future. I talked with Coach Brown for like 10 minutes in his office. They have some of the top facilities in the country. My favorite part was probably getting to develop a better understanding of WVU football and their program.”
Knigga sees a potential fit in West Virginia, saying, “I see myself fitting in well at that building. I had some of the current players come and say what’s up to me and got to talk to them a little bit. The people there are great so that makes it great for me.”
Knigga is also a stand-out basketball player for “The Burg” on top of being a well-revered student, holding a 4.194 GPA according to his X bio.
“I didn’t expect to blow up like this and it was honestly crazy to see how one post can just go viral. It has been great on the recruiting process though,” Knigga said of his honest reaction to going viral.
