West Virginia Volleyball defeated Virginia Tech 3-1 in an exhibition match at the WVU Coliseum on Friday evening.
The first set was tightly contested until the Mountaineers pulled away at the end 25-17.
The second set was dominated by Virginia Tech, as the Hokies cruised to a 25-15 win to tie the match 1-1.
West Virginia got it together from there, as the two teams took it down to the wire in the third set and it took 28 points for the Mountaineers to win it 28-26.
The two teams battled it out through the fourth set until West Virginia pulled away at the end to seal the match victory with a 25-21 win.
West Virginia will be back in action when they open the season at the College of Charleston Tournament against Le Moyne on Friday, August 25. The Mountaineers won’t be back at the Coliseum until they host the Mountaineer Invitational starting on Thursday, September 14.
